A logo sits at the forefront of your brand so it is imperative that it represents your brand perfectly. The logo work produced in the lab is always packed full of creativity and originality which means our logos are bold, focused and memorable. Before any designing has begun, we ensure your brand and its mission is fully understood so when we do begin designing, this knowledge guides us to the right designs. Logo design projects can be taken on singularly, but also as part of a full brand identity overhaul.
CASE - SOUTHFEST
Completed 19th Dec 2016
A client approached the lab with a new idea for a festival in the south west of England called 'SouthFest'. He wanted a full brand solution for the festival with everything from the logo through to the fonts considered in detail. His brief was relatively 'brief' but being from the south west too, I understood his vision of a sun drenched evening in the Somerset countryside with "rosey-cheeked southwestians" having a real good time to real good music.
Straight off the bat I had visions of a detailed logo that also doubled as a stylised scene of the goings on at the festival which could be used as a banner to instantly intrigue prospective festival goers. As with many logo conceptions, designing started off with pencil on paper where I sketched up a few different countryside horizon scenes with custom script text nestled amongst the hills with a golden sun drenching the hills in luminous light. After the right composition was conceived, the sketch was imported in to Illustrator and outlined in vector with textures, colours, gradinets and other details added.
LAB REPORTS
I have composed a selection of lab reports on some of the recent logos to leave the lab. Each report highlights the clients 'symptoms' and also explains how they were 'diagnosed'.
